We have not been idle in our spare time since we moved to Villa Oleandro. I wanted to write a book about Vico del Gargano, it's people, dialect and traditions, as long ago as 1981, but until we moved here I didn't have enough material or experience. I wrote the first chapter 2 decades ago and it has travelled with me, moving from computer to computer, awaiting inspiration.
Margherita has been busier, compiling her Book of Cooking over many years and in 2011 she has published her memoirs.
Having achieved our goals, it was only when we discovered Lulu Self Publishing that we were able to realise our books (as it is virtually impossible to get a publisher/agent to even read a chapter unless, it seems to us, one is some kind of celebrity).
